THE safety of a Liden block of flats is in focus after a fire on Sunday morning.
Those living at Cromer Court were evacuated after a suspected arson attack on the building.
Ward councillor Curtis Flux paid a visit and issued the following statement on social media: “I met with residents of Cromer Court in Liden to discuss future safety measures and possible improvements after a fire broke out within the flats in the early hours of Sunday morning.
"This included smoke alarms, door security, CCTV and fire safety advice and training.
“Many residents have paid tribute to the emergency services who attended the scene immediately and other members of the community who helped out.
"Kate & Jay, residents of Cromer Court are looking for a very helpful lady called Emma, who they feel went above and beyond to help them that morning.
"If you know Emma, please get in contact.
"Bethany, another resident also said how proud she was of the actions of everyone within her community including helpers from Rosewood Court.”
