Drivers heading north from Swindon to the M5 or Cheltenham and Gloucester will become much more familiar with Cirencester at night for two weeks later this month.

The A417 northbound will be closed at its junction with the A429 at Cirencester overnight between 8pm and 6am between Thursday August 19 and the morning of Friday September 3.

Diversions for northbound traffic will be in place with motorists directed around Cirencester.

The "missing link" single carriageway section of the A417 northbound will also be closed overnight at the same times and for the same dates

Signs indicate parts of the southbound route will also be closed for the same length of time. Signs at the Air Balloon roundabout and at the junction of the single carriageway A417 northbound with the road from Birdlip advise of closures between August 19 and September 3.

Again, diversions will be put in place.

Access to the White Hart roundabout from the A419 south will be closed, except for traffic turning left on to the A420 between Wednesday until November
