A WOMAN was sexually assaulted by a man while walking along Lakeside.

The 38-year-old victim was approached by the suspect who asked her for a cuddle and if she would be his girlfriend.

He went on to touch her inappropriately on an intimate part of her body and then attempted to hug her.

The man is described as being 5ft 4ins tall with a tanned complexion and short, dark hair.

He was wearing a red, white, and black shell suit jacket with dirty denim jeans, a black cap and had a dark rucksack.

The description released by the police indicated that he had very distinctive crooked teeth.

The force is looking to speak to anyone who was in or around Lawns Park at midday last Friday and may have witnessed the assault.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim saw a dog walker go past at the time of the assault, so if that was you or you were in the area at the time and saw what happened, we’d like to get in touch.”
