Residents in a village earmarked to take a significant rise in housing over the next 15 years have a chance to tell top councillors how they feel about it.

Swindon Borough Council has updates its Local Plan until 2016 and it is currently out for public consultation.

One of the more controversial measures in the plan, which says the town can expect another 20,000 houses over the next 15 years, is the scheme to put nearly 1,500 houses in Highworth and Wroughton.

The approach, which the council says makes it quicker to get houses built, would see 608 of 1454 rural houses, built in Wroughton.

Officers and councillors will be on hand at an open meeting in Ellendune Community Centre in Wroughton tomorrow (Tuesday September 7) between 6-8pm to set out the plans and hear peoples' views.

It is a drop-in session, with no need to book.
