A GROUP of men attacked a victim in his 30s outside a Victoria Road takeaway after a row over a can being thrown.

The incident took place near Kings Best BarbeQue at 4.30am on Saturday morning and is believed to have started after a man confronted the group for throwing a can at him. 

The victim was then attacked by a group of between five and seven men and was taken to hospital for treatment on a shoulder injury, while suffering cuts and bruises. 

Swindon Police are appealing for witnesses.

"We believe there were a number of passers-by who would have witnessed the incident and are appealing for them to get in touch," the police said.
