Web gremlins seemed to attack Swindon Borough Council’s offices yesterday.
While many parts of the website for external users was still in order some significant areas stopped worked shortly after 10am.
A statement on the council’s said: “We are experiencing major technical problems that are affecting our telephone system and some areas of our website, for example; payments. We ask for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Minutes of meetings were also unavailable.
Inside Euclid Street that the entirety of the authority’s internal and external web communications were affected, with officers and councillors being unable to send or receive emails.
Parts of the council's website were still inaccessible by the time the Adver went to print.
