Bluebird Care Swindon is working with The Harbour Project to raise money for people seeking asylum or refuge in the town.
The care team's manager Kelly Torr said: "My husband is in the military so I have heard first hand how the current Afghan crisis has affected people. Seeing it all on the news really made me think about how we take life for granted and waste so much when others have so little.
"Seeing what people are going through has been horrifying and we just want to help in any way that we can. We chose to support the Harbour Project as they are a Swindon charity who are committed to helping refugees coming into Swindon. We are asking if anybody has anything at home or is willing to grab an extra item in their weekly shop to help out we would be really grateful.
Donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, teabags, coffee, biscuits, rice, cereals, tinned foods and cooking oil, washing up liquid and laundry powder can be dropped off at Suite E6 of Gemini House on Hargreaves Road.
