POLICE are continuing to investigate possible criminal activity in north Swindon.

Officers are out and about carrying out enquiries around the Tadpole Garden Village following two arrests.

Two men arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence remain in police custody.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing in north Swindon following the arrest of two men on Wednesday.

"People living in the Tadpole Village area will have seen a police presence in and around Horta Close overnight and this will continue throughout today.

"There is also police activity ongoing in the William Morris Way area.

"We want to reassure the local community that there is no risk to the public and they should not be alarmed by the police presence."

The suspects, aged 23 and 25, were arrested during a raid involving armed officers at a property in Horta Close at around 1pm on Wednesday.

This came a day after police in north Swindon received a report of a disorder in the Moredon area, where threats were made but nobody was injured.
