A plan to add to a listed barn and convert its garage will be discussed by members of Swindon Borough Council's planning committee next week.
The council's planning officers are against the proposals put forward by Mr and Mrs Jolly who live at The Old Stable in Hampton lane in Hampton just south west of Highworth - they want to convert the garage at their property to a bootroom and lavatory and build a new linking block between the garage and the main house with a kitchen and breakfast area.
The officers say the work would overwhelm the original building a converted Grade II-listed barn.
But ward councillor Steve Weisinger called in the matter to have it considered by councillors.
He is in favour of the scheme, and the report to the committee recommending refusal says neighbours either support or have no objection to the proposal.
The meeting starts at 6pm on Tuesday.
