SWINDON Borough Council has changed its mind about plans to bid for the town to become a city.
Th local authority announced in June that it would make the bid as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
But BBC Wiltshire reports that it will abandon this plan after a survey found that the public were "overwhelmingly against" the idea.
