CHENEY MANOR: Vehicles will be stopped from travelling and parking on several parts of Swindon in phased roadworks which begin on October 18 and will be carried out at different times over October, November and December.

The first will be on Vicarage Road, from the Cheney Manor Road junction to St Mary’s Roundabout (including the roundabout itself). 

Four traffic diversions will be in place, one for Vicarage Road and three for the roundabout. Vicarage Road will be accessed via Cheney Manor Industrial Estate Road, Akers Way and vice versa.

St Mary’s Roundabout will be accessed via Cheney Manor Industrial Estate Road, Akers Way and vice versa, or Akers Way, Purton Road, Moredon Road, Cheney Manor Road and vice versa, or Beech Avenue, Pinehurst Road, B4006, Cheney Manor Road and vice versa.

Under the same traffic order, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate Road will be closed from Darby Close to Baileys Corner Roundabout.Traffic for this street will be diverted via Cheney Manor Road, Vicarage Road, Akers Way, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate Road and vice versa.

HAYDON WICK: Another road closure will be put in place on Stonecrop Way Estate on Stonecrop  Way, Cloudberry Road, Speedwell Close, and Willowherb Close. Access will be maintained.

LAWN: A fourth closure will be put in place on Cranmore Avenue betweeen Whitbourne Avenue and Rushden Road. Traffic will be diverted via the A4259 Queens Drive, Shaftesbury Avenue and vice versa.

TOWN CENTRE: A fifth closure will be along the full length of Exeter Street, with traffic diverted via Emlyn Square, Bristol Street and Church Place.

HIGHWORTH: Roundhills Mead will be shut from Priory Road to the north of the bend. Traffic diverted via the A361 Lechlade Road, High Street and vice versa.

TOWN CENTRE: Rediet Berhane applied for a premises licence in respect of 164 Cricklade Road, Swindon, SN2 8AH.

The application seeks late night refreshment from 11pm to midnight Sunday to Thursday and 11pm to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, the sale by retail of alcohol from 9am to midnight Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as 9am to 2am on New Year's Eve, Christmas Day, bank holidays and Russian-Orthodox Easter.

TOWN CENTRE: Footways leading to and from John Street car park will be blocked off between October 15 and December 3 while the car park is being demolished. This traffic order (reference STR000262 ) will divert pedestrians via Fleming Way.

CHISELDON: A traffic order (reference STRDDD254) is being introduced to allow BT to carry out works and will prohibit vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding on Turnball between Mays Lane and Slipper Lane. 

Traffic will be diverted via Mays Lane, New Road and vice versa. It is expected works will take place between November 1 and 5.

LIDDINGTON: This order (reference STRDDD263) is being introduced to allow for construction works and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding on PROW footpath 12 Liddington located between Coatside Way and Homington Avenue. Pedestrians will be diverted via a signed temporary route. The order will come into the force on October  25 2021 for six months.

LAWN: A traffic order (reference STRDDD236)  is being introduced to allow development works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Wolsely Avenue between Queens Drive and Leighton Avenue.
