Major roadworks projects around Swindon and why they have over-run, and the impact they have had on the people and businesses in Swindon will be the subject of the borough council's scrutiny meeting on Monday.

The Conservative administration's member for strategic infrastructure, transport and planning, and deputy leader Gary Sumner will present a report to the committee about projects such at the remodelling of the Moonrakers' junction, which took weeks longer than planned, the closure of White Hart Roundabout, and the Mead Way closure which has over-run by more than a year.

Coun Sumner is expected to tell the committee that Mead Way should be finished by the end of November, White Hart will be open by the end of the year and fully completed by the end of February - and the council will pause before seeking funding for more such major projects

The meeting begins at 6pm at the civic offices in Euclid Street. Members of the public are entitled to attend.
