One complaint about Swindon Borough Council held up by the Local Government Ombudsman - the watchdog over councils - is too many leader David Renard told members of his cabinet.
The ruling Conservative group approved a report noting the Ombudsman's annual report which said there had been 43 complaints in 2020-21, down from 59 the previous year and six had been upheld, fewer than Wiltshire Council's nine and much fewer than Bristol City Council's 19 upheld complaints.
Coun Renard said:" The figures are generally good, but one complaint upheld is too many."
That was echoed by the member for adults' services and health Brian Ford who said there must be rigour and no complacency
The six complaints upheld were all regarding the way the council dealt with issues with children and young people.
