SWINDON'S jobcentre is hosting programmes and events to help get people find suitable work.

A number of sector-based work academy programmes, Kickstart events and recruitment days have supported jobseekers.

The Brunel Shopping Centre will host the third recruitment day for Amazon on October 21 and has already hosted a Kickstart event last month, where seven 18-to-24-year-olds secured a position on the paid work experience scheme on the day.

The next Kickstart event will be on October 28 in the Brunel Game Zone from 11am to 1pm.

At the Swindon Spring Gardens House and Canal Walk Jobcentre Plus, staff worked in partnership with Kickstart employers and had seven employers meeting with customers.

Kickstart vacancies can now be found on Findajob.gov.uk and can help customers aged 18-24 to find the employment they want in the scheme.

A series of work academy programmes started with one for the NHS on October 11 and will continue with programmes for Marstons Hospitality on October 19, Cidori Construction on October 25, and Skills for Care on November 3.
