POLICE have launched a hunt for a HGV driver who fled the scene after a crash on the A420 which left a man with serious injuries.
A HGV truck and a black Audi A1 crashed at around 7.10am between Faringdon Business Park and Homeland Garden Machines. The road was closed in both directions.
The HGV driver fled the scene in a blue van before police arrived and did not exchange details, while the driver of the Audi was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
Investigating officer PC Alex Norrish said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.
“I’d also urge motorists in the local area around the time of the collision to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured something that could assist the investigation.
“The driver of the HGV left the scene before officers arrived and I would ask that they also make contact with police.”
Anyone with information should call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference 43210464838.
