SEVEN schools in Swindon will switch to LED lightbulbs to save energy.
Pinnacle Group's facilities management team is working with lighting specialist WILA to install the new lighting in Abbey Park School, Red Oaks School, Uplands School, Brimble Hill School, Nova Hreod School, Orchid Vale School and Moredon School.
Th3 6,000 upgraded bulbs will cut energy consumption by 60 to 80 per cent per year and save a total of around 260 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year across all the schools.
Pinnacle Group's regional operations manager Paul Dewberry said: "Pinnacle consistently strives to enhance the energy efficiency of the buildings that we maintain.
"This project proves that a small but significant change can be both environmentally friendly and cost effective, which is paramount when working towards a more sustainable future.”
WILA business development manager Joe Grzbiela said: "We took responsibility for supply, installation and commissioning of the lighting, as well as partnering with Lumicom to ensure disused luminaires, batteries and lamps were recycled."
