Which company will be collecting Swindon's household waste will be revealed to members of Swindon Borough Council's cabinet next week.
But members of the public, or the press, will not be allowed to know.
One if the items on the cabinet meeting agendais the outcome of the tendering process for the contract to collect waste from the doorstep across the borough.
Currently the contract is with Public Power Solutions, a private company which is wholly owned by the borough council itself.
Under government rules contracts must be opened to a competitive tendering process, allowing any company to bid for the work. The results will be kept under wraps on grounds of commercial confidentiality.
The meeting starts at 6pm on Wednesday December 1 at the civic offices in Euclid Street. Members of the public are able to attend.
Questions should be submitted in writing to the council by 3pm today.
