A SWINDON councillor has joined the charge to get a 999 cenotaph installed in London to honour frontline emergency workers.
Bazil Solomon is encouraging everyone in the town to join the campaign by wearing the colours of the emergency services today.
This means he would like to see as many people as possible in Swindon’s schools, charities, workplaces and colleges wearing red, blue, green or orange clothing.
The move is to raise awareness for the national campaign which is now attempting to raise £3.2 million to build the UK’s first ‘emergency services cenotaph, earmarked for a location in Whitehall.
It has received the support of all political parties as well as the Duke of Cambridge, the Prime Minister, the First Ministers of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales as well as all emergency services.
You can also support the effort by texting ‘Hero 1’ to 70500 to donate £1 to the 999 Cenotaph.
