TWO men knocked a cyclist to the ground as he passed them on the way home in Swindon.

The victim followed cycle route 45 which stretches from Westmead Industrial Estate, past Shaw Forest and to the junction of Thamesdown Drive and Purton Road

As he was approximately 300 metres away from Thamesdown Drive at around 4.40pm on November 24, he went past two men who kicked his bike.

The man in his 30s fell to the ground and suffered major bruising to his arm, chest and legs. The helmet he wore prevented further serious injuries.

The suspects were walking towards Thamesdown Drive. The first man is described as white, skinny build, aged in his 20s and around 5 ft 8 inches tall. He is believed to have been wearing a grey hoodie and grey trousers.

The second suspect is described as a white male, aged between 16 and 18, approximately 5 ft 10 inches tall and wearing rectangular black rimmed glasses and a tracksuit with a pattern on the chest area.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A spokesman said: "Were you in the area at the time of the incident? Can you recall seeing the victim on his bike or pushing it along after due to the damage caused? Do you recall seeing the two suspects walking in the area or do you recognise the descriptions given?
