Keep Swindon Tidy Day will be returning for 2022 after the success of the first ever event that took place last year.

Plastic Free Swindon will be holding this year's Keep Swindon Tidy Day over the coming Saturday and Sunday where members of the community in Swindon will get together to do their bit to pick up litter in their areas.

18 groups and organisations supported last year's efforts litter picking in their neighbourhoods as well as communal areas like Coate Water and other parks.

The organisation said "We're grateful that the 1st Keep Swindon Tidy Day in 2021 was so well-supported, a great start to the year during difficult times.

"It was the springboard for a year of great work for our campaign.

We aspire to start 2022 with the same drive and determination to carry through the year! Taking responsibility for our waste enables us to deal with plastic and other pollution, and reduce our impacts on the environment.

This year there are already a number of organised group litter picks that people can attend at various locations or they can do their own.
