A MAN has appeared in court charged with an alleged burglary at a Swindon pharmacy and a stabbing on a residential road.

Richard John Hall, of Croft House, Twickenham Close, is accused of stealing more than £5,000 of medication from Lloyds Pharmacy in the town on November 9, 2021.

Wiltshire Police previously said that the charge relates to an incident at the pharmacy at Shaw Village Centre.

Mr Hall has also been charged with wounding with intent after a stabbing on Castleton Road, Middleleaze, four days later on November 13.

The 39-year-old is further accused of stealing £80 from the victim, and possession of heroin.

Mr Hall had been due to enter pleas at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, but the case was delayed whilst his representatives await his signed instructions, defence barrister Anthony Bignall told the court.

The case has been adjourned to January 27, where it is expected that Mr Hall will enter a plea.

Addressing Mr Hall, Recorder Neil Millard said: “Mr Hall I am going to adjourn your case until January 27.

“The reason for that adjournment is that you can return your instructions in writing to your advocates, so they have confirmation of your intended pleas.”
