UNJABBED Great Western Hospital staff have been urged to have the Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible or face being dismissed.
In December, MPs approved mandatory vaccinations for NHS and social care staff by April 1.
All frontline NHS staff will have to be double-jabbed before the deadline, meaning they will be required to have their first dose by February 3.
There is ongoing speculation the NHS will start dismissing staff as early as next month.
As of the end September 2021, nearly 300 heath care workers at Great Western Hospital were unvaccinated.
The figures show that 95.4 per cent of health care workers had received their first jab.
Now GWH is strongly encouraging all the remaining frontline staff to be double-vaccinated and receive a booster dose as soon as possible.
A spokesperson for GWH said: “Government legislation requires all patient-facing NHS staff to be fully vaccinated by April 1.
"We have written to all those staff who our records show have not yet been double-vaccinated to advise them of the timescales by which they would need to have their first vaccine in order to be able to have their second by the mandatory deadline.
“We have strongly encouraged all our staff to be double-vaccinated and take up the offer of a booster vaccine at the earliest opportunity and have put support in place for those staff who have been hesitant to have the vaccination so far.”
