FOOD hygiene ratings have been revealed for several of Swindon's bars, cafes, takeaways and restaurants.

The Food Standards Agency website shows four takeaways, two restaurants/cafes and five pubs/nightclubs have all received good news after achieving the maximum five-out-of-five score.

Curry Choice and Monica's Fish Bar, both at St Andrews Ridge received a score of five after assesment on February 17 - as did Abbey Meads-based Panku Street Food on February 8 and Phillip's Traditional Fish & Chips on Cricklade Road on February 5.

The addition of these means that of Swindon's 133 takeaways with ratings, 79 (59 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

Joining them with a raiting of five are pastry cafe Patisserie Valerie in the Designer Outlet and Indian restaurant Jewel In The Crown on Victoria Road, Old Town.

And rounding off the list of newly crowned five-scoring places is five pubs and clubs - the Cross Keys in Wanborough and four venues in Old Town. They are The Victoria and The Vault on Victoria Road, The Brass Money on Wood Street and Tree nightclub at Hoopers Place.

This means that a total of 11 recently inspected food reailers in the town have all been given top food hygiene ratings.
