A MAN will stand trial in June accused of a string of burglaries across Swindon.
Paul Leslie Jones pleaded not guilty to a number of break-ins across the town in the early hours of Saturday, January 29.
It is alleged that Paul Leslie Jones entered three houses in Dorcan, Covingham and Upper Stratton, and stole cash, jewellery and personal items, whilst attempting to enter a fourth in Walcot.
Appearing in the dock wearing a grey shirt, a black tie and a black face mask, Jones heard his trial will take place on June 28, with a time estimate of three to four days.
He has been released on conditional bail.
When his bail conditions were discussed, the 46-year-old said: “I’m innocent sir”.
The offences he has been charged with are:
- Hatherley Road, at around 5am, where it is alleged he stole jewellery, a trinket box and a watch.
- Welcombe Avenue, at around 5.30am, where it is alleged he stole cash, a wallet, a bank card and driving licence to a value no less than £200.
- Ashwell Close, at around 6.15am, where he attempted to enter a property with intent to steal.
- St Phillips Road, where he is accused of stealing jewellery, a watch, and a wallet and its contents.
