More than 2000 paper doves will spread their wings and fly inside St Augustine's Church to mark a National Day of Reflection commemorating the huge loss of life during the Covid pandemic.
Pupils from Even Swindon Primary School have helped to create the artwork called Hope Springs Eternal.
The 2022 doves will carry memories of loved ones, prayers, hopes or reflections of the past two years.
A spokesperson from the church said: "We have all been through a difficult time over the past two years, and with the current events across the world, we need hope more than ever."
The day of reflection, organised by cancer charity Marie Curie, is intended to support the millions of people bereaved during the past two years and includes online events, walls of reflection and a minute's silence at noon on March 23.
The day ends at 8pm when the public will be invited to shine a light outside or in their window, using candles or lanterns to remember someone who has died.
People who want to take part in the event at St Augustine's can write their own memories or prayers on one of the church doves by 1pm on Sunday.
The installation opens on March 23.
