Several schools across Swindon have announced temporary closures to pupils.

The notices have been issued as the schools in question are only part-open, meaning some pupils will still have to go in while others will not.

The schools have been announcing closures directly to parents, or sometimes the pupils themselves

The schools that the Adver can confirm have had closures are as follows.

Highworth Warneford School - Year 8 is home learning today after parents were notified last night.

Nova Hreod Academy - The school announced that year groups would be taking it in turns to learn from home starting last Thursday on a rolling basis, and that is still currently in place.

Royal Wootton Bassett Academy - Three year groups have each been allocated a day for home learning, with year 11s at home today, year 9s tomorrow March 24 and year 7s on Friday March 25. Years 8 and 10 are in school as normal.

East Wichelstowe Primary School - Parents have received a letter telling them that years 4 and 5 will be learning from home on Thursday March 24 and Friday March 25. The school hopes to reopen fully next week but that depends on further depletion of staff.

Kingsdown School - Closing the whole school early at 2pm due to staff shortages.
