THE signs of Swindon's history as an industrial town were all around even as it underwent huge changes in the later part of the 20th Century.
The cooling towers of the power station at Moredon could be seen for miles around even after it shut in 1973, eventually coming down at the end of the decade.
And the new North Star College sat on top of thousands of tons of burning material buried when the site was part of the town's huge railways complex.
In our gallery you can see how parts of the town have changed over the years as landmark buildings have come and gone.
