Swindon has just been named as one of the worst places for a night out in the country.

Get Licensed recently listed the best - and worst - places in the UK for a party, and the town ended up 35th in a list of 50 towns and cities.

But surely it can’t be that bad out there.

We asked our readers across the county about what they really made of the nightlife scene in Wiltshire.

Chris Randall noted that it is not what it used to be, commenting on our Facebook discussion: “Brunel Rooms was great, back in the day.”

Kenneth Crossley disagreed with the sentiment that Swindon was lacking something on the nightlife front.

He recalled: “I’ve had some great times in Swindon, and trying to find my car in the wrong multi-storey car park, happy days.”

Without revealing his favourite spots for a night out, Lark Keith simply added that it was: “Better than Swindon’s.”

Chippenham, on the other hand, seems to present mixed reviews.

For Wiltshire as a whole, some were less optimistic.

Martyn Ford remarked that it was: “non-existent,”

Stephen J Squires said: “I stay in, it’s cheaper.”

York, Telford and Warrington filled the top three, with Coventry bottom of the pile.
