Motorists are experiencing delays of up to thirty minutes after the M4 has been closed in both directions.
Police have closed the M4 in both directions within junction 18 near Tomarton, Bath and Stroud due to what Avon and Somerset Police have called 'an ongoing incident'.
National Highways - South West have confirmed the closure via an announcement on Twitter and added that traffic was being diverted off of the motorway and back on via the junction.
There are 30 minute delays eastbound and 20 minute delays westbound.

Update: National Highways has since confirmed that the M4 is now fully open.
The motorway agency said that the police led incident had finished and that just over a mile of congestion would easy shortly.
Avon and Somerset Police have been contacted for comment on the reason behind the road closure.
