Wiltshire Police has issued an update regarding a brawl on Manchester Road in central Swindon.

Officers were called at 8:30pm on Sunday night following reports of a group of people fighting in the street.

Two people were hospitalised after the incident, which saw at least seven police cars head to the scene and the road cordoned off.

They were found to have only minor injuries and have since been discharged.

Police have confirmed two people, aged 29 and 38, were arrested.

The 29-year-old was initially arrested on suspicion of affray, while the 38-year-old was arrested at the time on suspicion of GBH and assaulting an emergency worker.

They have also confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else and have assured the public that this is an isolated incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Two men were arrested following a disorder in Manchester Road in Swindon last night.

“Police were called to the incident at around 8.30pm yesterday (22/05) following reports of a small group of people fighting in the street.

“Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured, but two people were taken to hospital for assessment and have since been discharged.

“Two men, aged 29 and 38, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.

"Detectives are treating the incident as affray at this time.

“This is believed to have been an isolated incident and we are not looking for anybody else at this time.
