Here are some of the latest planning applications submitted to Wiltshire Council this week.

Malmesbury:

WESSEX Water has submitted plans for a new sewage pumping station compound near Malmesbury.

The company says that the scheme has been designed as a solution to problems with the existing drainage arrangement for properties on Easton Town, Sherston.

The properties are currently served by a septic tank which discharges into a blind ditch. The ditch is frequently overwhelmed as it can only be emptied once a year when the crops in the adjacent field to the north have been harvested and a tanker is allowed access,

The scheme will also require the construction of an access road and new access via an existing track way from Tetbury Road. An eye-wash station is also proposed.  There will be a minor increase in traffic and noise during the construction period, and the proposals will also result in a permanent loss of land and up to five trees and one of two trees in one group.

Trowbridge:

A CAMPAIGN group is urging people to resist proposals to build around 2,600 homes north of Trowbridge.

Wiltshire Council undertook a consultation in last year's Wiltshire Local Plan Review, and the possibility of 2,600 houses at Hilperton and Staverton were indicated in the informal consultation version and referred to as “North Trowbridge” (4) and “North-East Trowbridge” (5).

The Hilperton Area Advisory Group (HAAG)  say that of the 375 replies received, 92 per cent were opposed to the development, five per cent raised some concerns and just three per cent supported it.

The group says that the council will consider the proposals this autumn "having determined that the housing deficit in the county will be met by Trowbridge, Melksham, Chippenham and Salisbury", meaning "more and more areas of natural beauty will be at risk of development".

Warminster:

Plans for a new warehouse have been tabled in Warminster - but are revised proposals of a previously lapsed application from 2017.

The site is located at the end of cul-de-sac of Newopaul Way, which is located on the Warminster industrial/business park.

EMW Maintenance, a metal fabricating company, has run from the premises for around 30 years, and says more space is required in terms of office space and warehousing.

The proposed uses of the proposed building are present onsite and no new processes that would the affect the surrounding environment are proposed. This ensures the development does not detrimentally affect neighbours or the surrounding environment. The proposal would allow the business to expand and employ additional members of staff.

Ashton Keynes:

Mrs Meryl Haynes wants to build a new four b-ed family house and a two-bed bungalow within an existing plot of land in Ashton Keynes.

Pilgrim Cottage is a four-bedroom detached traditional Cotswold Stone house located on Back Street in Ashton Keynes.

The current retired owners seek to construct a new two-bedroom bungalow to the rear of the property to allow downsizing. The proposals also include the construction of a new four-bedroom house to the side of the existing house.

The existing outbuilding north of the main house will be demolished.

EXTENSIONS:

pplications have been lodged to build extensions to houses, or to build or convert outbuildings and lofts at The Laurels, Main Road, Corston; 68 Westfield Road, Trowbridge; Brookfields, Nore Marsh Road, Royal Wootton Bassett; Hill Cottage, West Street, Great Wishford; 68 Paxcroft Way, Trowbridge; 2 Spitfire Road, Calne;  128 High Street, Chapmanslade, Westbury.
