MORE than £1,000 has been raised as a reward for anyone who can help a football club catch the vandals who ruined their defibrillator.

Highworth Town Juniors volunteer Neil Tustin was left devastated when he found the lifesaving kit the club had bought in memory of his late father Will left abandoned in the rain.

Neil, alongside an anonymous donor, has now raised £1,000 as a reward to whoever can help the police catch the vandals responsible.

Neil said in a post on Facebook: "£250 I'll add from my own pocket and £750 from a kind gentleman in Highworth. That's £1,000 to police for any information leading to a conviction of damage to the difibllirator."

He added that he hopes the money will prevent this happening again.

A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said: "On May 14, at around 3.15pm, a number of youths are thought to have vandalised a defibrillator, thought to be worth about £2,000, after removing it from its storage box on an outside wall of Highworth Town Football Club."

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 quoting incident number 54220050106.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
