POLICE have stepped up their presence in Penhill after a disorder that saw three men arrested - one of whom is suspected to have been carrying a weapon.

Officers raced to Downton Road in Penhill at around 4.30pm and arrested three men at the scene.

One of the three men was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

The two other men were arrested on suspicion of affray.

All three are currently in police custody.

There were no reported injuries.

Officers were out engaging with members of the public on Thursday and will continue to be in the area over the coming days.
