Few might have missed that this weekend marks the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and one of the many celebrations planned is an RAF flypast.

The military flypast is due to take place on Thursday, June 2, the first day of the bank holiday weekend, with parts of the route going over Swindon and Wiltshire.

This date also coincides with the Queen's Birthday Parade held in London.

The air show will see a large formation of military aircraft perform over London before flying over the South East.

It will just about reach the east end of the county, predicted to be seen in the Wiltshire sky between 12.50pm and 1.30pm according to recently released maps.

It is suggested that the aircraft may be spotted overhead in Wiltshire between 12.50pm and 1.30pm.

The towns of Swindon, Marlborough, Burbage, Ludgershall, Tidworth, Pewsey and Amesbury are all in the possible flypast zone.

The show will start in the vicinity of the Wash, and travel over the North Sea, then over parts of Suffolk and Southend.

It will then head to London, Thetford and Colchester, and over Buckingham Palace. The formation will then disperse over Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Hampshire.
