Swindon Police pulled over a car, saying the driver had been having an 'unsupervised' driving lesson.

The Wiltshire Specialist Ops took to Twitter to describe their first stop of the day, which happened to be a driver 'giving himself a driving lesson' without a supervisor in the car with him.

The stop happened on the B4289, near Faringdon Park earlier this morning.

They said: "First stop of the day for OT20. The driver of this vehicle was giving himself a driving lesson with no supervisor. Vehicle seized."

The car was seen having the obligatory L plate on it for the provisional driver, but they failed to have a supervisor in the car with them.

A provisional driving licence allows you to learn to drive on all UK roads except motorways, provided you are supervised.

The driver can be supervised by a driving instructor or any other driver, as long as they're over the age of 21 and have held a full driving licence for a minimum of three years.
