After taking a break for two years, a popular village dog show is returning to set tails wagging!
The Aldbourne Doggy Day & Classic Car Show is back on July 3 this year with all profits going towards an animal rescue and village projects.
The event, run by a small team of avid dog and classic car lovers, is described as a 'fun and quirky day out'
The dog show itself has classes like 'Survivors' (for abused or poorly pooches), 'Black Beauty' and 'Fancy Dress'. There is also an eleven-legged race - a three-legged race where each participant also has a dog on a lead.
Organiser Anne Sandford said 'We usually choose a local animal charity but this year the war in Ukraine has affected so many animals that we wanted to help them.
"The charity 'Dogbus - Transporting Paws, Saving Lives' assists with rescue transport in the UK and overseas; they are currently helping with donations and the rescue of Ukrainian animals. We will also be donating to Aldbourne Memorial Hall which celebrates its 100th birthday this year!"
Vintage dress is encouraged. For further info, find Aldbourne Doggy Day & Classic Car Show on Facebook or call 01672 540233.
