A WROUGHTON driver has been fined for speeding close to Canary Wharf.
Sean McMahon, of Inverary Road, was behind the wheel of a Peugeot when he was caught going too fast in a 30mph zone along the A13 East India Dock Road near Canton Street in Poplar on December 4 2021.
The 63-year-old's offence was proved through single justice procedure at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court on South London earlier this month.
A RedSpeed SpeedCurb device recorded him going 36mph in a 30 zone at 7.24pm. The speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200 yard intervals.
McMahon must pay a £220 fine plus court costs of £90 and £34 to victim services.
He was given three penalty points.
