A woman had a fright yesterday after finding a snake in her house.
The metre-long grass snake got into a house in Ashton Keynes, and made a new home under some cupboards.
Nigel Gillman responded to a call for help posted on the Cirencester, A Local Town For Local People Facebook page and removed the snake to a secure habitat with the help of a neighbour.
Not everyone was feeling as brave as them though.
"If that was me the snake's welcome to my home," said one commenter.
"I'm packing the kids up and leaving."
Grass snakes are one of three species of snake native to Britain. They are non-venomous.
