A TRIO of masked attackers wielding a blade left their teenage victim with serious injuries.

Three people approached the 18-year-old man in Doris Archer Court in Pinehurst at 11pm on Wednesday night.

He needed hospital treatment for the injuries caused by the sharp object. The attackers are described as being dressed in black clothing and wearing balaclavas.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the serious assault.

Detective Sergeant Lou Kuklinski said: “This was a very concerning attack which left the victim with significant injuries. 

“We are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident to contact us as a matter of urgency.

"Even a small observation could provide a vital clue to help identify those responsible.
