People from Wiltshire will soon be able to get proper pub food on the cheap, if they download the app that’s got everyone talking.

The southern pub chain, Butcombe, ran a successful trial with the app; ‘Too Good To Go’ in December last year, and now pubs all over England, including Wiltshire are signing up to the idea permanently.

The idea is that you can collect unused and unwanted food that’s still in good condition from the pub that did not get sold that day.

People can download the app for free and search for nearby businesses, and then purchase a ‘Magic Bag’, to collect it at a specific time.

But what kind of food is actually on offer?

We took a look at the app to find out what kind of food the chain was offering to people in Wiltshire.

After typing in what the results were for Butcombe magic bags into the app- it turned out  nothing was being sold that day.

But in Melksham, the Kings Arms was advertising that they had been offering people a Sunday roast for as little as £4 previously.

Other pubs located in Wiltshire from the chain, which you could check out for deals on another day include: the Northey Arms in Box, the Methun Arms in Corsham, the Horse and Groom in Malmesbury, the Quarrymans Arms in Corsham, and the White Hart in Swindon.

Alice Bowyer, Head of Food, Liberation Group said: “After a successful trial earlier this year we saved over 500kgs of CO2e from being released in a relatively short space of time.  Just think of the difference we can make now all sites are onboard.

“We take the issue of food waste and our impact on the planet incredibly seriously and the Too Good To Go app helps us find good homes for unused food and drink products that would have, otherwise, gone in the bin.”

Paschalis Loucaides, UK Managing Director, Too Good To Go says: “I’m thrilled to be extending our partnership with Butcombe Pubs & Inns further, so that we can help save even more delicious food and drink from going to waste.

“Following a really successful trial period, I'm excited to see the continued impact we will have together in reducing the impact of food waste on our planet.

“This partnership shows you can get delicious food at a great price, all while paving the way for a brighter, greener future - it's a win-win-win."
