HIGHWAYS

Swindon Borough Council has given notice under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the following temporary traffic orders.

WROUGHTON

This Order is being introduced to allow for Section 278 Highway works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the B4005 Hodson Road at the junction with Brimble Hill. Traffic to be diverted via Brimble Hill, Marlborough Road, Moormead Road, Swindon Road, Croft Road, Pipers Way, Marlborough Road, Common Head Roundabout, A419 J A4259/B4192.

Join A419 From J A4259/B4192 To M4 J15, A346 J15 Roundabout, Marlborough Road, New Road.

The order will be in place from September 15 for six months but it is anticipated the road closure will be required between the hours of 20:00 to 06:00 on the September 15/16, 2022.

This Order is being introduced to allow for SSEN to install a new connection and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Hackpen Lane outside Overtown Farm. Traffic to be diverted via Hackpen Lane, B4005 Brimble Hill, Marlborough Road, Devizes Road, High Street, Church Hill, A4361 (Broad Hinton Road), Free's Aveue and Hackpen Lane. Order to come into force on the 19 September 19, 2022 for six months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place on September 19-23, 2022.

CROMBEY STREET

This Order is being introduced to allow works for a footway improvement scheme and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding on the footway and vehicles from parking on Crombey Street between Eastcott Hill and Curtis Street.

The order is to be in force from September 12, 2022 for six months but it is anticipated that works will take place from 12 to 23 September 2022.

EMLYN SQUARE, RAILWAY VILLAGE

This Order is being introduced to allow works for a road crossing scheme and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Emlyn Square and parking on the bays on Emlyn Square outside the Cricketer Public House and Bristol Street as indicated by signs. Traffic is to be diverted via the bus gate on Bristol Street where two way traffic lights are to be set up. Order to be in force on the August 30, 2022 for six months but it is anticipated that works will take place on the August 30/31, 2022 only.

FLEMING WAY

This Order is being introduced to allow for works of the Fleming Way Bus Boulevard Scheme and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Fleming Way between Whalebridge Junction and Milford Street.

Traffic will be diverted via Corporation Street, Manchester Road, Milford Street, Holbrook Way. The Order will come into force on September 4, 2022, for 18 months.

OLD TOWN

This order is being introduced to allow for Thames Water Works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Old Mill Lane at the junction of The Weavers to the rear of No's 14 to 24 Mill Court. Access to be maintained. Order to come into force on the September 19, 2022 for six months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place between September 19 and 21, 2022 only.

SOUTH MARSTON

This Order is being introduced to allow for Openreach to carry out overhead fibre cabling works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Highworth Road between the entrance to the allotments and Burton Grove Farm.

Traffic will be diverted via Highworth Road, Thornhill Road, A420, White Hart, Ermin Street, Swindon Road, Hobley Drive, B4006 Highworth Road, A361 Highworth Road, Supermarine Road and vice versa.

The Order to come into force on September 12, 2022 for six months but it is expected works will take place overnight from 19:00 to 06:00 hours on September 12/13, 2022.

An application has been made to the Licensing Authority for Swindon for the grant of a Premises Licence by Emmanuel Turay in respect of a new premsies licence for Kings Bite, 37 Cricklade Road, Swindon, SN2 1AA
