Huge "dangerous" cracks have appeared in the ground in Stratton because of the "extreme weather", the parish council says.
A large number of fissures can be seen around the green area at Watermead and some are estimated to be at least a metre deep.
The area has been cordoned off and warning signs have been put up.
In a video posted to Stratton St Margaret Parish Council's Facebook page, a member has filmed the cracks in the area and shows how he can reach his arm down the holes.
He said: "Reports of cracks at Watermead; really, really bad.
"I've never seen anything like it. My arm's going down in there.
"We're going to put up some temporary barrier fences and come back tomorrow.
"I don't know if we even have enough soil to fill that. It's going to take tonnes. That's got to be down a metre deep."
One of the signs places around the green says: "Due to weather conditions, dangerous cracks are appearing in the ground.
"We will repair as soon as possible."
The parish council have warned residents to take care when out and have encouraged people to report any dangerous sites.
Anyone who notices something dangerous should email info@strattonstmargaret.gov.uk or call 01793 823761.
