The stunning Edwardian gardens of Grade I listed Hazelbury Manor near Corsham will open to the public for a day next month to raise money for Alzheimer's Support.

Parts of the building are thought to date back to before 1500 but the gardens were the work of George Kidston who bought it in the early 20th Century.

It became a girls school during the Second World War but was returned to being a private home again in the early 1970s.

There is extensive planting surrounding the house and a wide range of organic horticulture is practised in eight acres of space.

The gardens are open on September 14 between 10am and 4pm. Admission is £7.50 for adults. Visit ngs.org.uk for more details.
