Jewellery and cash was stolen from a home in Chippenham in August.

On Tuesday, August 16, sometime between 1.15pm and 9.30pm, suspects forced open a door of a property on London Road belonging to a victim in their 70s.

Jewellery and cash were stolen.

Chippenham Police are now appealing for information or witnesses regarding the crime.

PC Papworth, based at Chippenham Police Station, said: “We want to warn homeowners about this incident and remind people to take safety precautions to help keep their homes safe.

“Residents can ensure all doors and windows are locked, garages are secure, and car and door keys are kept out of sight, but to hand in case of an emergency.

“People should also consider additional security measures such as video doorbells or security lights, and keeping external lights on sensors.

“Burglar alarm systems with audible alarm boxes mounted at the front and rear of your homes can also help keep you safe, ideally high up so they can’t be tampered with.”
