TIGERSHARKS ASC

The Tigersharks were founded in 1975. In 1981, after just five years of opening, they won both the winter and summer leagues and have continued to win these for more than 20 years.

The Tigersharks take anyone from four years old onwards and have three different levels of swimming to complete.

The swimmers train all over Swindon, including places such as the Link Centre, Milton Road Health hydro and the Ridgeway Leisure Centre in Wroughton, and top swimmers train up to nine times a week.

Lesley Leffers, the club coach, believes that the benefits of being a Tigersharks swimmer includes keeping fit and healthy, having a fun and interesting pastime, being able to save lives and gaining the opportunity to make friends in the swimming community.

Jazz Carlin is the Tigersharks most recent champion. At 16, Jasmine won the 1500m freestyle in Sheffield last year.

Plympian Jaime King was also member of the Tigersharks and five months after joining she set a British junior record for the five-metre breaststroke.

If you have a child that is interested in joining the Tigersharks, call the club coach on 01793 855254 or email info@tigersharks.co.uk.
