More details have been revealed about a jailed Swindon drug dealer, who shoved heroin and cocaine wraps into his underwear has been jailed for more than four years.

Leandro Pinto, 19, was arrested multiple times between March and April this year for offences linked to drug dealing in Swindon.

When he was first arrested on March 2, he was found with eight wraps of heroin and cocaine in his mouth along with the wraps in his underwear.

Pinto, of no fixed address, also had more than £400 cash and a burner phone.

Just five days later, Pinto was found with 54.81g of cannabis after he was spotted riding an electric bike in the Faringdon Park area. Officers detained him on Cambria Place and searched the rucksack stuffed with cannabis.

Later that month on March 20, the defendant was detained again and officers discovered he was carrying six bags of cannabis.

The officers had been on duty in the town centre when they detained a group of suspected drug dealers in the Wharf Green area.

And then, on April 28, the defendant was found in bed when a warrant was executed at an address in Chalvedon Green.

A mobile phone containing messages indicative of Class A drug supply was seized.

On one occasion, he was found with a tear gas canister and a large knife in his Kingshill bedroom.

He pleaded guilty to possessing heroin, cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply and possess criminal property.

Pinto was sentenced to 54 months in prison and an order was made for the destruction of all the drugs seized during the arrests.

He was condemned by a judge who labelled his lawlessness “persistent and deliberate”.

Judge Jason Taylor QC said: “I recognise you were at times homeless and you got in over your head. But it is encouraging you are using your time [in custody constructively].

“But I have got to reflect this overall spree of offending which was persistent and deliberate.”

Fortitude Investigator James Purcell said: “Officers from our Fortitude teams are committed to targeting prolific offenders like Pinto who continuously cause harm within our communities.

“The drugs seized from Pinto during multiple arrests had the potential to cause significant harm to vulnerable people living in Swindon and further afield.

"Drugs is often seen as a victimless crime but that could not be further from the truth – drugs are often associated with violent crime and weapons, and I am therefore pleased we have been able to disrupt this individual from continuing to offend and ensure he was put before the courts and subsequently jailed for his involvement.”
