THE Swindon Rockets Powerchair Club was in fine footballing form for Sport Relief.
Players with disabilities, and their coaches and supporters controlled giant footballs through a slalom course, covering a mile in aid of the charity last weekend.
The team generated a total of £350 sponsorship after taking an hour to complete the 50-lap course in the sports hall at the Premier Club, in Ermin Street, Stratton.
"We have all had a great time and it's been a lot of fun," said chairman Martin Kelly.
"This was a way of giving something back to Sport Relief as they helped us set the club up in August last year."
"The £1,000 grant came via the Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon."
Swindon Town football fan Banjo Sandhu, 42, from Upper Stratton, was at the club for the first time on Saturday.
"I really enjoyed myself," he said.
"We are thankful for the money Sport Relief gave us and I hope the club will continue grow as a result."
