PLANS for a new speedway stadium in Swindon could be at risk.
Swindon Council had approved the £6m proposals, but Secretary of State Baroness Andrews has issued an Article 14 order, which could see the plans go to public inquiry.
The process could take months and now the Stadium owners, Gambling International, fear a major partner may pull out, causing the entire scheme to collapse.
The reason for Government intervention is the stadium plans are linked with a scheme to build 450 houses on adjoining land, which is outlined for employment use, not residential.
