SOUTH Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove has been praised as a "climate hero".
Mrs snelgrove became the latest to add her signature to a pledge aimed at strengthening the UK's Climate Change Bill.
Her actions were praised by members of the I Count campaign which brings together more than 70 organisations to push for stronger legislation on climate change.
The parliamentary petition called for the bill to set a tougher 80 per cent target for cutting carbon dioxide by 2050, as well as including the UK's contribution to pollution from air and sea travel.
Mrs snelgrovesaid: "The Climate Change Bill is a bold but necessary move to tackle climate change and confirms the UK government as global leaders in getting carbon emissions under control.
"However, to be effective the targets in the bill must be set according to current scientific thinking and account for emissions from international aviation and shipping."
I Count is mobilising a Climate Change Bill Week between March 30 and April 5.
