An electricity pole was hit after a Range Rover crashed through a hedge, police said.

The crash happened on the A3102 in Royal Wootton Bassett, near the Salley Pussey's Inn, on October 7.

Damage caused by the crash can still be seen a week later with police tape strewn across a huge gap in a barbed wire fence, with bits of broken bush and wood also littering the floor around it.

A short distance into the field sits a smashed-up Range Rover, abandoned with its doors open. It has a huge bushy branch stuck under its wheels, the front is severely damaged with fence posts lodged in the grill.

There is also a dangerous-looking sharp piece of wood that has smashed right through the windscreen and has stopped roughly where the driver's head might have been.

Matthew Gill, 28, of Great Pulteney Street, Bath, was arrested and subsequently charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis after police attended to the scene.
